This photograph is a close up of the plambic pellicle seen in the other shots. In this photo it is very easy to see the uneven texture and color of the yeast colonies present. This matted structure developed after about 8 months and continued to grow in thickness over time. Only after moving the carboy repeatedly for photographs did it begin to sink. And then not all of it would sink. Again this is composed of various wild yeasts and not bacteria.
